The entries of this site will reflect my ‘musings’ as I walk along this life that I have been given. More often than not, I will quote bits of Scripture as I link daily events to what God says, as I believe that He is relevant today as He has always been. As a reader you will not come upon many political discussions. I believe that true and long-lasting change cannot be legislated but comes through individuals who make true and long-lasting changes in their own lives first.
That is the hope of this site: may we choose to be open to learn something every day to bring us UP and FORWARD in our life individually which will impact the lives of the larger community.
I was born in the U.S. heartland, Cape Girardeau, Missouri. My parents were raised on farms and that work ethic was instilled in me as a child. My father was a truck driver and my mother took great pride in providing a home where God and education were top priorities. I have always been interested in music and drama as avocations while becoming an RN as my first vocation. I have had wonderful experiences as a critical care nurse and in hospice care. In hospice, I began as a patient care coordinator and then a manager and moved on as an educator of staff and volunteers. I am a strong advocate of hospice!
I am married to an awesome man, Henry Neufeld, teacher, author, and publisher. We will celebrate our eighth anniversary this year! We have three children: Janet and her husband, Chris Lister, are associate pastors at Heartland Fellowship Church in Dallas, TX, John Webb is a pitcher in the Chicago Cubs organization and his wife, Megan, live in Phoenix, AZ, and James Webb, who loved to lead praise and worship and his work in marching band. James was 12-years-old when he was diagnosed with rhabdomyosarcoma. He died at 17 and is now home with Jesus. I have five grandchildren: Alex, Anna, Jaxon, Jamie, and Ashton John.
I am also blessed with children of my heart: Amy and Aaron Bergh also living in the Dallas area with their three children, Brett and Shauna Ralston who are serving with the United States Marine Corps and their beautiful daughter, Erin and Kyle McClelland who live near us in Pensacola, FL, and Rev. Geoffrey Lentz and his wife, Liz, and handsome son are in Pensacola where Geoffrey is the associate pastor at First UMC Pensacola.
