To Whom Are You Listening? Part 2
Prayer is an important part of my life. I have learned that prayer is where I listen and find the balance, even the truths of my life. It takes time, focus, and commitment on my part. There have been times in which prayer has seemed a waste of my time; there were more pressing, definitive things I should be doing: caring for my home, my family, even sleeping!
[Jesus said,] “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” (Matthew 11: 28-30 (NIV)
I don’t have all the answers to the gnarly questions that come my way in my life. I need wisdom beyond what I have learned in school or in life’s conversations that is understood by both parties. God gives me that every time.
There’s no formula, my friends. There is an open, loving God who has shown throughout time to those who have gone before us, He is here and willing to meet and bring His truths to us to be a connection of healing and assurance of His presence in days that may seem dark and unknown. “Come to Me.” I choose to listen to my Father God. Excuse me. I have an appointment now.
