Women: Leadership in Ministry

There are some conflicts in God’s Church that are just so “out there” for me that I have difficulty giving any time to the discussion. Women in Leadership is one of them. It is such a “no-brainer” to me that any time someone tries to bring me into an argument or attempt to tell me that because I am a woman I can not lead a mission team or teach men in a class – I rarely respond because I do not feel it is worth my breath. On the possibility that I might voice a pragmatic point that would cause a ‘nay-sayer’ to rethink their position or I might encourage a young woman that God has called her to lead, I will print my thoughts. 1. Ruth, Esther, Deborah, Priscilla, Mary (all of them) and even Rahab did not need a man’s permission to be obedient to God’s call or command. On Judgment Day, “He wouldn’t let

me!” may not stand up in God’s Court!

  2. Even our brother, Paul, never wrote that a woman was not capable or intelligent enough to teach. His note of discipline was to a church post new topic женский стриптиз that was disruptive and out of control. In my years on committees and church boards, there was, unfortunately, no one sex less out of order than another! We all need to learn some Galatian-noted self-control!

  3. We are blessed to continue to have wonderful God-inspired words from women like Ruth Graham, Mother Therese, Stormie Omartian, Maya Angelou, Corrie ten Boom, and Joni Earakson Tada, to name a few. Has God made a distinction and given “less” to these women than He has to men?

I know women who are wonderful teachers, worship leaders, pastors, evangelists, and prophets. I also know young people, male and female, who are also held back from their God-given duties much like Timothy, because of their age. Are we as His Church so flooded with “workers for the harvest” and so stiff-necked to reject these servants? Lord, have mercy on us.

  1. Thanks for expressing your heart. Sometimes you just have to say it. I have two beautiful daughters who may one day be pastors, evangelists, teachers, writers or something else for the Lord. It is evident throughout your web site that your love for God is real.

    Thanks,
